At the present time, suitable and on time response to customers need’s is the most important factor for success, and many organizations focus on quality according to ISO standards. This quantitative - descriptive study, was conducted related to the barriers and problems of ISO implementation in manufacturing companies, reviewing the critics and supports toward the ISO all over the world and then investigates the reason for mal implementation in manufacturing companies of the country.
Research data were gathered through al 9 item questionnaire regarding the implementation of ISO standards (ISO 9000:2000) in lickerts format.
The society of study includes all companies intending to achieve ISO 9000:2000 supervised by the ministry of industry in Tehran province. It was requested that, three middle level managers answer the questions. After two months, 54 companies completed the questionnaires.
Results showed that the implementation of ISO management system in every organization’s needs are foundation procedure and also top level managers and authorities should accept such process in their organizational management practice. Such evidence was not observed in this study and in contrast there was a little trend in this field which did not motivate the managers to provide the needed infrastructure for documentation, data transfer and contribution with other management levels. It seems that top level managers of Iranian Industrial companies do not pay significant attention to such important problem and it will be followed by many negative consequences for local manufacturing centers in their future competition in the world economy.

This paper considers production scheduling and delivery problem together and is trying to integrate both of them. Retailers order includes different types of products that have been processed at a distribution center. After completing the order process at the distribution center, products are delivered to the retailer in window time; otherwise the distribution center is required to pay the penalty cost of window time to the retailer. The aim of solving this problem is to determine the production sequence, retailer need to heterogeneous vehicles and the visiting sequence of retailers with respect to the delivery window time. In this paper, a mixed integer linear programming model is provided in which the total cost, including the cost of vehicle routing, fixed costs and penalty costs have been minimized.in order to solve the proposed mathematical model , two approaches of CPLEX solver of GAMS software and Relaxation Lagrangian algorithm have been used. At first, by using different samples, the efficiency of Lagrangian Relaxation algorithm had been confirmed in small sizes, and then it is used in order to obtain an acceptable optimal solution in large sizes in a reasonable period.

Considering the crucial role of the Axle unit, especially its vehicle brake drum which is related to the safety of the passengers, the study of the producing and assembling processes and conducting the quality control experiments during these stages is of great importance. With regard to the great significance of three main factors, namely, seal-oil spindle diameter, seal-oil internal diameter, and nut lock torque as independent variables, the present research attempts to optimize the rotatory torque of the automobile brake drum getting help from the discussions in the RSM and the unsteady of the automobile brake drum getting help from fuzzy regression using least absolute deviation estimators. Finally optimal solution perused by nonlinear programming model and Genetic Algorithm using one of multi-objective existing methods (LP-metric). Comparing the two optimization methods is shown that the GA technique has better performance rather than nonlinear programming model.

One of the important issues to reducing waste and therefore increasing productivity in manufacturing enterprises is good production layout. Organizations can make production flow layouts productive by following up lean thinking model, thereby producing final products with minimal waste. This paper aims to provide a model to aid industry managers’ decision-making process for choosing the most appropriate production flow layout pattern with respect to the amount of waste in production units. This model considers inventory level, transport, lead time and product quality. To evaluate and choosing layouts based on the forgoing criteria, a fuzzy inference system was employed. The system input is rating of each layout of production flow for each criterion, which was obtained by ANP method, and its output is the amount of waste of each layout for production flow. In order to simulate the proposed fuzzy inference system, Matlab software was utilized. Finally, product layout with a quantitative difference compared to group technology (cellular) layout, took up the least amount of waste and was considered as the most suitable of lean production flow layout for the case firm.

Today evaluation of customers to classify the quality of providing services is one of the main challenges of decision-makers in different organizations. It is difficult to respond to all customers’ demands because of increasing volume of them. On the other hand, in current competitive markets, customers are considered as capital of organizations. This issue results in purposefully study on different groups of customers in competitive markets. One of the effective ways to study the customers and provide the optimism service to them is grouping the market and clustering the customers. In this research first customers classified in appropriate clusters using neural network techniques SOM in order to provide purposefully service , so each customer can deliver proper service according to its cluster. Then by the proposed model in the paper the membership of each client in the appropriate cluster can be predicted by using DEA-DA technique. This model has provided dynamic clustering process for organizations so that by which new customers will be assessed at any moment and their proper cluster is determined with reasonable accuracy.

This paper presents a mathematical model for a redundancy allocation problem (RAP) for the series-parallel system with k-out-of-n subsystems and failure rate depends on working components of system. It means that failure rate of components increases when a component fails. The subsystems may use either active or cold-standby redundancy strategies, which considered as a decision variable for individual subsystems. Thus, the proposed model and solution methods are to select the best redundancy strategy among active or cold-standby, component type, and levels of redundancy for each subsystem. The objective function is to maximize the system reliability under cost and weight constraints. To solve the model, since RAP belongs to Np-Hard class of the problems, one effective meta-heuristic algorithm named genetic algorithm (GA)is proposed. Then, response surface methodology is applied for algorithm parameter tuning. Finally, we consider the results of solving presented model with a numerical example

One of the important aspects of ERP both for practitioners and researchers are the “implementing considerations”. While companies worldwide have spent considerable investments on the ERP systems, but they've confronted unexpected problems and realization of its final benefits is blurred. In order to implement ERP with minimum risk and assured ROI, it’s necessary' to identify the organizational parameters affecting it positively or negatively. This study aims at describing proper organizational conditions for this organizational system, for Iranian manufacturing industries, and Irankhodro Company as a case. This organizational condition has been investigated in an organizational Architecture framework. OA has been viewed from a plan/design view and the research model has been developed as a variable called design coherence and its effect on the ERP success. Design coherence, is the coherence between HR attitudes about the dimensions of the organization and the real design. The results show that in the proper OA for ERP there exists design coherence. This finding is verified through existing evidences obtained from past studies. Regarding the case company, Irankhodro we can say that the aforementioned organization should move toward this coherence in order to preparation for ERP. Managing the system reliability regarding the organizational information systems (EISs) is an important consideration which merit attention for maximizing the benefits of investigation on such an expensive information system called ERP.

The formation of the optimum portfolio based on risk and return is one of the most important decisions of investors in financial markets, for which there are various methods. Markowitz’s Mean-Variance method was the first method introduced in this area; but because of the normality assumption for the return distribution function, it only considered specific characteristics (expected return and variance) of the return distribution function. Another method introduced years later was the Stochastic Dominance method which considers all of the return distribution function instead of specific characteristics such as variance. The present research investigates the “Stochastic Dominance method” in portfolio optimization and compares the performance of this method with “Markowitz Portfolio Optimization method” using performance evaluation criteria in the Tehran Stock Exchange. The performance evaluation criteria used in this article are: Sharpe, Treynor, Sortino and Omega. The results of this research indicate the advantage of Second Order Stochastic Dominance method on the Markowitz method in out-of-sample and in-sample approaches. Moreover the Second Order Stochastic Dominance method has a higher cumulative return than the Markowitz method.

Two models are presented: first one is economic order quantity and the second one is economic production quantity. Both models are formulated such that backorder is not permitted. Since the obtained model is a type of nonlinear continuous program, solving it with exact methods is impossible at the reasonable time, hence genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization algorithm are presented to solve the problems. In addition, to increase effectiveness of algorithms, Taguchi method is used for parameters tuning. Finally a numerical example is presented to comprise two methods and results are illustrated.

TOPSIS is located in compensatory decision-making methods. The basic principle is that the chosen alternative should have the shortest distance from the positive ideal solution and the longest distance from the negative ideal solution. The existence of incremental and decreasing uniform trend in positive and negative criteria is one of the TOPSIS characteristics in determining positive and negative ideal points. While the utility assigned to the decision maker after a certain level in each criterion will be less tangible. Therefore, in the ranking of alternatives in addition to the value of each alternative in each indicator, the balance among criteria of each alternative should be considered so the alternative that has an appropriate place in an important indicator, but does not have an appropriate place in other criteria, not to be the first chance for selecting. For this purpose, in this paper by adding virtual dimension to the decision matrix that comes from the deviations among criteria of each alternative, we have tried to compensate the mentioned weakness. To evaluate the proposed method, three different examples are presented. Thus, each of the three provided examples, solved by proposed method, TOPSIS, VIKOR, Deng and SAW and then by using the Spearman correlation coefficient the number of significant correlation relationships between the proposed method and TOPSIS with the other three methods were compared. Then, the rating similarity percentage of the proposed method and TOPSIS were compared with VIKOR, Deng and SAW.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of two important component of strategic cost management (SCM) (executional cost management and structural cost management) on financial performance. For this purpose, one specific context is investigated, namely environmental costs. The environmental costs reflect an ‘executional’ aspect aimed at managing, controlling and optimizing costs for a given environmental strategy, but also a ‘structural’ aspect based on their influence on the firm's cost structure notably in terms of product design, raw materials used and operational process design. Survey data have been collected on a sample of 126 Esfahan’s manufacturing firms. In order to analyze the research hypotheses Pearson correlation matrix and the structural equation model were used. According to the research findings, tracking of environmental costs and implementation of environmental initiatives have significant effects on financial performance. Executional cost management (the tracking of environmental costs) and structural cost management (the implementation of environmental initiatives) are related to each other and they act together to contribute to financial performance. Finally, through improving the current cost structure and providing new initiatives regarding cost structure, the tracking of environmental costs has influence on financial performance.

Most studies on decision making issue have supposed the problem in deterministic environment, and because uncertainty makes the decisions taken suboptimal, so in this paper we propose a credibility based fuzzy model for the Vehicle Routing Problem with Simultaneous Delivery and Pickup and Time Windows (VRPSDPTW). The dispatching cost of vehicles and customers’ time windows are supposed to be trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. We also proposed a hybrid meta-heuristic algorithm called Improved Particle Swarm Optimization (IPSO) for solving the problem. The proposed algorithm is the combination of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and some removal and insertion techniques which helps to improve the searching ability and maintain diversity of solutions. Finally, to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed model in the real world we studied the distribution of dairy products among customers by a distribution company in Fars province. The computational results show that distributors can use this method to reduce operating costs of the company.

Carbon emissions related to energy consumptions from the manufacturing industry have become a substantial part of environmental burdens. This study presents carbon emission constraint into the economic lot scheduling problem to reduce carbon emissions. The aim of this research to satisfy customer demand for various items over the planning horizon, with an objective to minimize total costs, includes setup, production, rework and holding costs. In this problem, it is assumed that the production process is defective, and during the process some of the goods are produced with undesirable quality. Defective products can be sold using a rework process. This proposed model has been proven to be a nonlinear convex programming problem. Hence, the optimal solution of this proposed model can be obtained using the derivative method. Finally, a hypothetical example is solved to demonstrate the performance of the proposed exact solution algorithm.

By increasing attention to environmental issues, the problem of design closed-loop supply chain has been more important. The integrated design of closed-loop supply chains as one of the most important issues in the management of supply chains involve determining the location and number of required facilities (production, collection, recycling and disposal) in the forward and reverse supply chain, inventories in every facility and flows between them. In this paper, a closed-loop supply chain with diverse products (multi-product) has been studied and a linear bi-objective mathematical model is proposed to reduce the total costs and the emissions in the network with determining the strategic and operational variables. Because of the uncertainty in parameters of proposed model such as customer demands or returns, the proposed model under uncertainty (robust optimization) is developed. The closed-loop supply chain of glass bottles is studied and modeled to minimize the total costs and production of carbon dioxide by proposed model. Finally, a sensitivity analysis of robust optimization model was conducted.
