The present research is entitled” The Effect of open innovation on competitive advantage Considering the Mediation Role of knowledge management” and is done in Sadad informatics corps of Tehran city in the year of 2016. The aim of this study is to study the Effect of open innovation on competitive advantage (With dimensions of quality, efficiency, responsiveness and innovation) Considering the Mediation Role of knowledge management. This research is an applied one and the research method is descriptive and survey. Literature review and field study method have been used to collect information. The statistical population of this study included 200 employees of Sadad informatics corps in Tehran city. A group of 131 employees was selected as the sample for research through Cochran’s formula. Data analysis was performed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. At the level of descriptive statistics, indicators such as abundance and percentage of abundance were used; at inferential level, methods such as correlation, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were used. To analyze the data was used of Lisrel and Spss software. The result show that open innovation plays an important role in effective management of organizations. Through open innovation, companies can turn knowledge management into an asset that promotes sustainable innovation that affects organizational sustainability.

Following Chesbrough's statements of open innovation as a spectrum rather than a dichotomy, many studies have been conducted to reflect the dynamics in its implementation in the form of typologies, modes, themes, and mechanisms. These studies, with considering only some aspects of the innovation process, have tried to develop a method for classifying and providing a model for adoption of open innovation. After reviewing the literature and interviewing with experts, the components and factors in each implementation step were obtained. Finally, to analyze and plot the interrelationships between the various components of the open innovation model DMATELE technique was used. Consequently, the open innovation model was determined in the study company. This model is the result of a chain of decisions in relation to each component of OI model within the phases of the innovation process. The decision chains include: selecting the “pre-print” domain as content of the model, choosing the direction of “market driven –invitational” for actors, and choosing mechanisms for increasing “absorptive capacity”, “transformative and connective capacity”, and “desorptive capacity.”

Identification of factors influencing on organizational innovation based on open innovation paradigm in publication industry was the main purpose of this study and open innovation approach was the main focus of this study. Mix method of Research was run and statistical publication in qualitative section was publication sector experts and universities faculty members was selected in order to implement the quantitative section. Sample size was 30 experts in qualitative section and 300 subject selected for quantitative section. Based on theoretical and practical literature, main factors such as structural, financial, environmental, and individual was identified and researcher made questionnaire including 60 item was develop and it’s reliability (α=0.89) and validity was approved. Data was analyzed by path analysis. Results showed that vary factors has important role in creating of open innovation in which the core competencies of human resource is more related to open innovation and accessing to bazaars was less related to open innovation.
