Sustainable production indicators measurement is becoming an important environmental activity because of government regulations and increase in the public awareness in protecting environment and reducing wastes. Such indicators can be used for evaluating the effects of different production and managerial activities. As a result, a reliable mechanism will be developed for monitoring sustainable performance of companies. The purpose of this study is to improve sustainability in the Isfahan oil Refinery through identifying sustainable production indicators and investigating their relationships. The present study aims to develop a sustainable production model and also determine the impact of indicators on each other. To do this, 12 indicators of sustainable production have been recognized through reviewing the literature and interviewing 10 experts in the Isfahan Oil Refinery. In the next step, the relationships among these indicators were investigated through Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM). In addition, DEMATEL Fuzzy technique was employed for determining severity of these relationships. The results of this study revealed that implementation of supervision and control, utilization of high-efficient resources, utilization of high-efficiency technology, and optimized production schedule for improving efficiency are the main indicators of sustainable production in the Isfahan Oil Refinery. The results of this study can be effective in directing the managers of Isfahan Oil Refinery toward sustainable production.
